Who we are

Valoo is a service of SOFTLY I.K.E. (General Commercial Registry no. 146081903000, VAT no. 800973647), registered at Doiranis 13, 11362 Galatsi, Greece. SOFTLY I.K.E. is the controller of the personal data described on this page.

For anything about your data, email us at [email protected].

What we collect and why

Your free estimate

For our AI model to calculate the estimate, you give us your car's details: make, model, generation, version, year and optionally month of first registration, mileage, body condition, optionally your city, and whether you are selling as a dealer. You also give us your email, so we can send you the report as a PDF.

We store your email together with the estimate and the choices you made in the form. We use it to send you the report, to help you if you ask us about it, and for the optional choices below, only if you chose them. If delivery fails, the error is recorded in our error reports so we can fix the problem. The car's details and the estimate result also help us monitor and improve the quality of our estimates.

Legal basis: providing the service you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and, for improving the service, our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

The form's optional choices

  • News and offers: we send you Valoo news and offers only if you choose this, in the form or in the free chat account.
  • Help finding a buyer: only if you choose this, when a partner dealer is interested in buying your car, we give them your contact details and your car's details. If you do not choose this, your email does not reach any dealer.

The legal basis for both is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect anything done before.

Contacting our team

The “Let’s talk” form asks for your name, email and, optionally, your business, phone and a message, along with what you are interested in (Valoo or CarCommerce). It reaches our team's inbox, and we use it to reply and to discuss working together (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).

“Can't find your car?”

This form asks for the make and, optionally, model, year, version, comments and email. We send it to our team's inbox so we can add the car to our catalogue. We use your email only if we need to ask you something about the car (legitimate interest, GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Client accounts

Professional accounts are created by our team after a conversation. They hold a name, email, password (stored encrypted), API keys and the account's estimate history. We use them to provide the service we agreed on (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Free chat account

To use Valoo from an AI chat app (such as ChatGPT or Claude), you create a free account with an email and password (stored encrypted) or with your Google or Microsoft account. From Google or Microsoft we receive only your name, email, account number and whether they have confirmed your email. We keep which chat apps you have connected and the valuations you asked for through them, with the car details the app sent us. The report goes to your account's email. Legal basis: providing the service you ask for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

What you write in the conversation is processed by the chat app under its own terms. We receive only what it sends us when it asks for a valuation or market figures, and we send it the answer, including the price of each valuation you ask for. From your account page you disconnect an app, change your choice about updates or delete the account.

Technical data

When you visit the site, your IP address and browser information pass through our servers and our network and security provider, so the site works and stays protected. We keep logs and error reports, on our own server, to find and fix problems (legitimate interest, GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

For each business in the directory we count, anonymously, the views of its pages, its appearances in searches and in AI chat apps' answers, and the clicks on its contact details and directions, without cookies and without storing anything about the visitor.

To protect the car catalogue from automated copying, the valuation form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks that a person is visiting, from information about your browser and connection, usually without asking you anything (legitimate interest, GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). How Cloudflare handles this data: cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy.

Cookies and browser storage

For the site to work we use a session cookie and a security cookie for forms and login. The language you choose and your choice about statistics cookies are saved in your browser. We use no advertising cookies.

Statistics (Google Analytics)

Only if you press “Accept” in the cookie message do we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics from Google. They measure which pages you view, your device type, your approximate location and whether you complete actions such as a valuation, with the car's make and model but never your email. They use the _ga and _ga_<id> cookies. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Without it nothing is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. If you withdraw it, we delete these cookies from your browser.

The site's fonts load from the Google Fonts service, so your browser connects to its servers and passes it your IP address.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with those who help us run the service, and only as far as needed:

  • our hosting provider, with servers in Germany (Hetzner)
  • the site's network and security provider (Cloudflare)
  • our email delivery provider and our team's email provider
  • the Google Fonts service, which receives only your IP address
  • Google (Google Analytics), only if you accept statistics cookies
  • partner dealers, only if you give your consent in the form
  • Google and Microsoft, only if you sign in with your account there
  • the chat app you connect to the free account: it receives Valoo's answers in your conversation, including the price of the valuations you ask for
  • public authorities, only when the law requires it

Some of these providers are based in the United States. When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this happens under the safeguards the GDPR provides, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Your email for the estimate and your form choices: we keep them with the estimate until you ask us to delete them.
  • Car details and estimates: for as long as they help improve the service.
  • Messages and reports to our team: for as long as needed to reply and for any work that follows.
  • Client accounts: while the account is active and, after that, for as long as the law requires.
  • Free chat account: for as long as it exists. You delete it any time from its page, and its chat app connections stop at once. The valuations you asked for are kept like every valuation.
  • Consents: until you withdraw them.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and withdraw any consent. Email us at [email protected].

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).

Security

The site works only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored encrypted, and only the members of our team who need the data for their work can access it.

Terms of use

The service

Valoo gives free, indicative value estimates for used cars. Professional accounts and API access are provided after an agreement with our team. The free chat account gives up to 5 valuations a day and the market figures through chat apps, without access to the dashboard or the API.

What the estimate is, and is not

The estimate comes from our AI model, based on Greek market data and the details you give. It is indicative: it is not an offer to buy, an expert appraisal or a technical inspection, and we do not guarantee that the car will sell at that price. The final price depends on the car's actual condition, service history, equipment and your agreement with the buyer.

Fair use

Give accurate details about your car. Do not use automated means to collect estimates or data in bulk, beyond what the “Using our data” section allows, do not get around usage limits and do not interfere with the site's operation.

Intellectual property

The site, the Valoo name and character, the texts, images and the estimation model belong to SOFTLY I.K.E. You may use the estimate report you receive for your own needs.

Liability

We provide the service with care but without a guarantee of any particular result. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions based solely on the estimate.

Changes and governing law

When we change this page, we update the date at the top. Greek law applies, without prejudice to the rights consumer protection law gives you.

Using our data

Market statistics

You may cite, quote and share figures, tables and charts from the market pages, commercially too, with the credit “Source: Valoo” and a link to the page.

You may not collect all or a large part of our data, by scraping or any other automated means, to build, republish or sell a database or a service based on it. For that kind of use, write to us.

The figures are not official statistics. They are updated when new files are published or when older ones are corrected.

Search engines and AI

Search engines and AI services may read, index and summarise our public pages, as long as they follow robots.txt. When they give our figures to their users, they must name Valoo as the source with a link, and tell the user clearly that using the figures requires the credit “Source: Valoo”. The limit on bulk collection applies to them too.

Value estimates

An AI assistant may ask for an estimate on your behalf, as you would. Bulk or automated collection of estimates is available only through the API, after an agreement. You may not collect estimates to build or sell a price database.
